Watch Idina Menzel's Elsa Sing 'Let It Go' In Full Scene From Disney's Frozen (1)

SPOILER WARNING: If you haven’t seen Disney’s Frozen, I don’t recommend watching this clip, as it’s probably more enjoyable seen and heard for the first time in context. Article also contains spoilers.

There are some clips that are meant to tease and others that are better enjoyed after you’ve seen the film already. The latter applies to the above video, which shows us the full "Let It Go" song as sung by Idina Menzel, who voices the role of Elsa in Frozen. But if you’ve opted to ignore the spoiler warning and you watched the clip without having seen the movie, this scene takes place after Elsa runs away from the Arendelle, where she was just crowned the Queen, and soon after exposed her icy abilities to everyone. Unbeknownst to her, she left Arendelle suspended in an eternal winter. At this point in the movie, all she knows is that the cat is out of the bag and she no longer has to hide her ability. In "Let it Go," she finally embraces her powers, using her frosty gift to build herself a beautiful ice castle in the mountains where she can live in isolation. The reality of her situation is actually sad, but it’s hard to feel all that bad for the character here, as she’s finally able to lose the gloves, let her hair down and enjoy the inner chill she’s been suppressing most of her life.

"Let it Go" is one of a few great songs in the film, and it certainly makes good use of Idina Menzel’s incredible vocal skills, which more than makes up for Enchanted's noticeable lack of Menzel on its soundtrack. So thanks for that, Disney!

Pop star Demi Lovato covered "Let it Go" for Frozen’s soundtrack:

"Let it Go" isn’t the first musical scene Disney released in full. You can watch Olaf sing about summer and enjoy the musical stylings of Menzel’s fellow Broadway vet Josh Gad in the "In Summer" clip below.

It was a good weekend for Frozen, as Disney Animation’s latest film managed to edge out The Hunger Games: Catching Fire at the box office, adding another $31 million (plus) to its already sizable haul. Of course, Disney Animation will be competing with Walt Disney Pictures this coming weekend when Saving Mr. Banks arrives in theaters. It also has The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug to contend with, along with American Hustle and Tyler Perry’s A Madea Christmas.
