This might be a dumb question but after racing with a clone how should I be cleaning all the dirt and mud out of the engine. Is it okay to power wash it? How do I cover the air filter and all that stuff? And what all can I not get wet?

Tape up the intake and exhaust and wash in parts washer or spray with water hose and stay away from the opening.

Remove clutch, remove air filter, use carb and exhaust caps to cover openings or good tape. Plug off fuel inlet. spray with simple green, then hose off. Good idea to dry with air gun or leaf blower etc.
I wouldn't power wash it.

It would be much dumber if you didn't ask and then screwed your engine up!

Wd-40 works as a good cleaner, and you don't have to worry about it getting places it shouldn't.

I also recommend a product called SC1. It's a high gloss coating you can spray all over your engine and that help keeps dirt off and makes cleaning easier.

YEP! only thing I do different is I like Dawn Power Wash platinum dish detergent. It makes the aluminum brighter and gets more oil and grime off engine.

that SC1 works really good, i spray my side by side and 4 wheeler down with it and it makes the plastics look new and makes it easy to clean

I recently got a go kart chassis and I was wondering if anyone knows what kind of chassis has three polyurethane ( I guess they’re flex bushings) that bolts the chassis together. One in the middle of the chassis under the steering column about four inches long and about two and a half inches in diameter, one in the middle of the chassis about an half inch thick one and a quarter inch in diameter and it mounts right under the front seat in the middle of the chassis and same right behind the seat. I can’t find any I.d. # anywhere on the chassis either. Anyone with any information would be greatly appreciated thanks. Jakester

Make a new thread with pics of the chassis. The more bare the chassis is is better to help identify your chassis.
